Call of Duty: United Offensive ( Big Offense ) is an expansion packfor the famous FPS Call of Duty game. It was developed by Gray Matter Interactive , with contributions from Pi Studios , and distributed by Activision . It was released for Microsoft Windows on September 14 , 2004 .
From the 13 of October of 2006 , the game has also been available for the gaming platform of Valve , Steam , due to an agreement with its distributor, Activision .
Continuation of the original game, much of the campaign US is influenced by the series Band of Brothers [ citation needed ] . The mission of Sicily is, for its part, inspired by Operation Husky
The game features single-player missions centered around the three main allied forces of World War II : the United States (such as Corporal Scott Riley), the United Kingdom (as Sgt. James Doyle), and the Soviet Union ( As Private Yuri Petrenko), and includes historical battles as the Battle of the Ardennes , the Battle of Kursk and Operation Husky . A novel introduction is the mission in which the player gets into the hide of a machine gun bomber, with several machine guns Browning M2 , at his disposal. On the other hand, new abilities have been added to the main character,
The most significant changes of the game lie in multiplayer mode. There are new maps wider than their analogues of the original game and a new system of bonuses. Apart from this, new weapons and vehicles (like tanks and jeeps) (similar to " Battlefield 1942 ") are included for the campaign of a player.
Another novel note, related to the characterization of the main characters, is the inclusion in the scenes of loading photographs of those before the war, and their girlfriends.
